Meet Your Hosts
We are Isabelle and her family, Quebecers at heart and Ardéchois by adoption. In 2024, we chose to give this beautiful traditional Cévennes house a new chapter by welcoming guests looking for nature, peace and authenticity.
The name g’Ardéchois is a little play on words inspired by our unique location on the border between the Gard and Ardèche departments. It made us smile… so we decided to keep it!
Since then, we’ve modernised the holiday home to make your stay even more comfortable, with new bedding, air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, a renovated swimming pool, and many thoughtful improvements throughout the property.
In 2025, our efforts were recognised with an official 3-Star Holiday Rental classification and Airbnb Superhost status, Thanks to the wonderful feedback from our first guests.
A House with a Story
Built in 1886, this traditional stone house has lived many lives.
We learned from a descendant of a family who once lived in the house that the attic was originally used as a magnanerie, where silkworms were raised.
The first floor was the family’s living space, while the ground floor housed both the wine cellar and the blacksmith’s forge.
We like to think that, after nearly a century and a half, this house continues its tradition of welcoming people from near and far.
We hope you’ll enjoy your stay here and leave with wonderful memories of both the house and our beautiful region.
Why We Chose Ardèche
We had loved France for many years and wanted to be closer to our family while finding the kind of natural surroundings that reminded us of Quebec.
We fell in love with Ardèche for its spectacular scenery, authentic character and relaxed way of life.
It was here that we decided to settle and create Mas g’Ardéchois.
Unless otherwise stated, all the photographs on this website were taken by our family during our many adventures exploring Ardèche. The only exceptions are a few authorised images used in the blog.
